Research & Development
New uses foran old Fibre.
We develop better fibre processing, new finishes and diversified jute products, and trial each one on the same lines that will make it.

Farmers Programme
Research that starts in the field
Seed, harvest timing and retting settle the quality of a fibre long before it reaches a spinning frame. We work with the growers who supply us on all three.

- Varieties Supported
- Tossa & White
Certified seed
Improved tossa and white jute seed is issued ahead of sowing, so the crop starts from a known variety rather than saved seed of unknown line.
Agronomy training
Field sessions on spacing, weeding and harvest timing — cutting at the right age is what decides fibre strength more than anything after it.
Better retting
Clean, flowing-water retting and ribbon retting trials, to lift fibre colour and cut the specks and barky roots that cost a grower a grade.
Fair, prompt payment
Grading is done in front of the grower against a published scale, and payment is settled at delivery rather than held to season's end.
Contract Farming
A season agreed before sowing
Growers who contract with us know the price and the buyer before the seed goes in. We know the variety, the acreage and the district the fibre will come from.
- 01
Acreage agreed
Before sowingWe agree the land, the variety and the expected volume with the grower or the grower group for the coming season.
- 02
Inputs issued
SowingSeed is supplied against the contract, with the cost carried by us and set against the crop at delivery.
- 03
Field follow-up
Growing seasonOur raw-jute team visits through the season — weeding, pest pressure, harvest timing and the retting plan.
- 04
Graded buy-back
HarvestThe crop is bought back at the agreed floor price, graded on the published scale, and moves straight to the mill as traceable fibre.

Terms
- Floor price
- A minimum rate fixed at contract, with the market rate paid when it runs above the floor.
- Seed advance
- Seed supplied on credit and recovered from the delivery, with no interest charged on it.
- Grading
- Bangladesh standard grades, called in front of the grower, with a re-grade on request.
- Payment
- Settled at delivery against the weighbridge slip and the grade sheet.
- Traceability
- Each lot is logged to its contract, so the fibre behind an order can be traced to the district it grew in.
